The IDRlabs Mean Girls Character Test (IDR-MGCT©) was developed by, and is the exclusive property of, IDRlabs International. The IDR-MGCT utilizes characters from the Mean Girls franchise but is not in any way associated with screenplay writer Tina Fey, director Mark Waters, Lorne Michaels Productions or Paramount Pictures, or any other professionals or professional bodies affiliated with the franchise.
Psychology professionals, experienced in the use and scoring of numerous psychometric assessments and measures of personality, have created the IDRlabs Mean Girls Character Test. Though the characters examined by this test are fictitious, the present test does use genuine psychometric items to determine the user’s best character match, based on various components of their personality.
The test provides feedback such as the following: Regina George: From her position as reigning Queen Bee and leader of the popular clique, The Plastics, Regina rules the school. She is beautiful, cunning, and manipulative; she does not let anyone get in her way. Regina gets what she wants — always. She holds the select people she allows into her social circle to exacting standards and expects nothing less than perfection from herself or her friends. Regina keeps a “Burn Book” in which she records gossip and dirty secrets about her classmates, but she cannot stand to hear a bad word about herself. Despite her many flaws, Regina is a charismatic, natural-born leader, so other students are grateful for any recognition from her. Even though she does not focus her energy toward positive ends, Regina’s reign as queen bee shows that she is capable of great things.
Gretchen Wieners: Second-in-command to Regina George, Gretchen is rich, popular, and addicted to gossip. Despite her status in the clique, Gretchen’s insecurity causes her to constantly fear losing her position and popularity. She puts up a confident, even vain, front but struggles with secret self-consciousness and doubts. She has a deep need to be appreciated and valued and can be pushed only so far before she breaks. Gretchen works hard to maintain her relationships and is a caring, loyal friend. While a great listener, Gretchen isn’t great at keeping secrets and often finds herself using gossip to draw others close to her.
